FAQ

WHAT IS AN EMERGENCY GENERATOR?

An Emergency Generator is an electrical system that automatically supplies power directly to your home’s electrical panel in the case of an outage. This allows you to maintain power and keep your home running smoothly in an emergency. After utility power returns, the generator shuts itself off and waits for the next outage giving you peace of mind.

BACKUP GENERATOR VS PORTABLE GENERATOR?

– Permanently installed backup generators are a safer way to provide backup power to a home than a portable generator.

– It is less expensive to run than gasoline that requires regular filling and sources such as natural gas do not need to be refilled.

-Protection from deadly carbon monoxide poisoning. It is a much greater risk with portable generators.

– They provide protection 24/7, whether you’re home or away, and they turn themselves off when utility power returns, so there is no need to monitor the unit during an outage

HOW LONG DOES INSTALLATION TAKE?

RDY Electrical Services works in tandem with Precision  Plumbing & HVAC to provide seamless installation of your new generator. Typically, installation takes approximately a day to complete. We will work closely with you to set out a timeline for completion so that you can have your home protected during the next unexpected outage.

DO INSTALLED GENERATORS NEED TO BE MAINTAINED?

All generators require periodic maintenance, such as oil and filter changes to ensure maximum performance for years of reliable service. We recommend you have your unit serviced every 6 months and to refer to the owner’s manual for routine maintenance procedures and schedules.
